Data
The Assessor's Office sells its Public Data Set which is comprised of three files with detailed information
on each parcel in the city. This set of files contains: address/legal description data, land and building
characteristics, ownership information, an assessment history, and a transfer history. The public data set
is exported in delimited text file format. Additionally, we can provide custom databases and reports upon request.

The cost of a custom data request is determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the time and complexity
involved in completing the request. Typically, the charge will fall into the $25 to $100 price range, payable by
check or money order made out to the city of Richmond.
If a request is so
complex that it requires an excessive amount of data processing, we will sell the requestor our Public Data Set
and the requestor will be responsible for processing the data.
