The Building Bridges Process
As Richmond continues to grow, generational differences, cultural and religious traditions, differing backgrounds and multiple languages present new challenges for us all. Traditionally, we have been reactive and response orientated by nature; that is to say, that when a fire or accident occurs, we respond quickly and perform efficiently to save lives and property. The Building Bridges Project will help take us to the next level with a proactive, culturally relevant approach to public safety as a means to prevent or lessen the severity of these emergencies. Identifying new ways to communicate and develop a better understanding of each other and the citizens we serve is the key to improving safety and service. This initiative is designed to enhance safety, excellence and teamwork (SET).
Process Resource Team
The Project Resource Team (PRT) is comprised of individuals representing various segments of the organization. The PRT mapped appropriate strategies addressing issues discovered during the initial assessment phase. The PRT also serves as a forum for greater understanding in the workforce.
